Description

2-Acetamido-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole coatings are designed to prevent corrosion of metal ions by forming a barrier on metallic surfaces. 2-Acetylamino-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole has been used in coatings as corrosion inhibitor for zinc and copper. 2-Acetamido-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole is a intermediate and impurity acetazolamide (carbonic anhydrase inhibitor) and has been used for synthesis in organic chemistry.
